MUSIC NOW will explore one of the most pressing questions facing the music industry: how does the artist get paid in the evolving digital landscape?

The event has been made possible by a grant provided by the NYU Arts and Impact Initiative “Remix the Future,” designed to explore how music shapes and impacts our lives.

The afternoon will commence with a panel discussion of traditional royalty structures in music and how streaming and AI impact that model: where we’ve been and where we are now. Next we will feature a future-centered round table focused on disruptors. Which artists are making money in the current landscape and how are they doing it? Where are we headed? The day will end with an opportunity for participants to meet and greet and will be capped off by a performance by one or more of the disruptors highlighted in the round table.
