MUSIC NOW will explore one of the most pressing questions facing the music industry: how does the artist get paid in the evolving digital landscape?

The event has been made possible by a grant provided by the NYU Arts and Impact Initiative “Remix the Future,” designed to explore how music shapes and impacts our lives.

The afternoon will commence with a panel discussion of traditional royalty structures in music and how streaming and AI impact that model: where we’ve been and where we are now. Next we will feature a future-centered round table focused on disruptors. Which artists are making money in the current landscape and how are they doing it? Where are we headed?
